Hadestown

Hadestown

HADESTOWN is the acclaimed new musical by celebrated singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell and Hadestown on Broadwayvisionary director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812) that reimagines a sweeping ancient tale as a timeless allegory for our world. The show has received 25 awards including a Tony Award for Best Musical!

HADESTOWN follows two intertwining love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of king Hades and his wife Persephone – as it invites audiences on an epic journey to the underworld and back. And no, there’s nothing ironic about that.” –The Boston Globe
  • “Triumphant! Not since Rent has a musical invested so many bravura roles with so much individual life.” –Variety
  • “Stirring, Breathtaking & Exceptionally Relevant. Works this ambitious broaden our perspective of what theater can do.” –BuzzFeed
