The Iceman Cometh

Tony winner and two-time Oscar winner Denzel Washington is set to return to Broadway as Hickey in a new production of Eugene O’Neill’s four-act epic, The Iceman Cometh. Five-time Tony winner George C. Wolfe will direct the limited engagement at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre this spring.

Carousel

The Rodgers and Hammerstein classic Carousel will return to Broadway featuring Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller (Waitress) as Julie Jordan, Tony nominee Joshua Henry (Hamilton) as Billy Bigelow and opera star Renee Fleming as Nettie Fowler. Three-time Tony winner Jack O’Brien will direct the revival and the production will be choreographed by Justin Peck, a one-time Broadway performer (The Phantom of the Opera, Movin’ OutCome Fly Away) who is now resident choreographer of the New York City Ballet.

Tony Kushner’s seminal epic, Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes, returns to Broadway for the first time since its now-legendary original production opened in 1993. Starring multi-Tony Award winner Nathan Lane and Academy Award and Tony nominee Andrew Garfield, the cast of Angels in America features fellow original National Theatre cast members Susan Brown, Denise Gough, Amanda Lawrence, James McArdle, and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett. Multi-Tony winner Marianne Elliott (War Horse) directs.

The Band’s Visit

The Band’s Visit is based on Eran Kolirin’s 2007 film about an Egyptian Police Band that arrives in Israel to play a concert. After a mix-up at the border, they are sent to a remote village in the middle of the desert. With no bus until morning and no hotel in sight, these unlikely travelers are taken in by the locals. Under the spell of the desert sky, their lives become intertwined in the most unexpected ways.
