Cabaret

Broadway’s Kit Kat Club welcomed some new faces—Grammy winner Adam Lambert and Auli’i Cravalho who stepped into the roles of the Emcee and Sally Bowles, respectively.

Cabaret received a total of three awards!

  • Winner of One Tony Award:
  1. Best Scenic Design of a Musical – Tom Scutt
  • Winner of Two Drama Desk Awards:
  1. Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical – Bebe Neuwirth
  2. Outstanding Sound Design of a Musical – Nick Lidster for Autograph

Cabaret stars Grammy winner Adam Lambert as the Emcee, Bebe Neuwirth as Fraulein Schneider, and Auli’i Cravalho as the Toast of Mayfair, Sally Bowles.

CABARET’s music is by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Joe Masteroff – based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood.

The show centers on a seedy nightclub in pre-World War II Berlin, overseen by the mysterious, all-knowing Emcee. American writer Cliff Bradshaw sweeps in, meets performer Sally and tries to create a stable, happy life, even as the threat of fascism is on the rise.

The musical originally opened on Broadway in 1966 and spawned a film adaptation, starring Joel Grey and Liza Minelli, as well as several other revivals.

Performances at The August Wilson Theatre, 245 W 52nd St, NYC. Tickets are on sale now. To purchase tickets, please click here.
